These small changes are designed to be made for good. For good, as in, forever and also for good, as in, to do good for ourselves and the planet we live in. To change a behaviour there needs to be a committment. Making a paid pledge is a way to be comitted. It's a small amount but it also helps us continue to spread the message and use the power of all your small changes to drive big changes. $3 from every pledge goes to Small Changes For Good to cover costs and the rest of your pledge amount goes to a Pledge Project. These are local, state or national initiatives that are doing good for our environment and our communities.

Goal: Reduce carbon emissions & packaging waste

What you'll need: Reduce meat consumption 50-60 grams per day (particularly beef) or stop eating it all together if you can and choose an alternative that has a lower carbon footprint with perhaps even better health benefits.

Behaviour: Find a good local market that is on regularly (we have directories for you), take your produce bags, trolly or basket & weekly shopping list. Purchase items that haven't travelled far to get to you, are in season and are not packaged in any plastic.

NOT FUN FACT: Even though the actual foods we eat have a much much bigger impact than where we buy them (3), avoiding air-freighted products will really make a difference. Air-freighting produce 'emits 50 times more CO2eq than boat per tonne kilometer' (3).
